Art, Activism, and Abolition | Crafting Legacy with Patrisse Cullors- Episode 74

mEET Patrisse Cullors

This week, we have a truly extraordinary guest to help guide us through this challenging and uncertain time. We have the honor of speaking with Patrisse Cullors, a co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement; however, Patrisse is so much than that. She is an artist, author, creative, and visionary behind a new art collective, The Crenshaw Dairy Mart.

Throughout our conversation, we explore what it means to embrace joy despite the struggles of both internal and external forces working to pull us down. We discuss how to honor and nurture the legacy we build for ourselves and for others as well as why we need artistry in the worlds we build. Patrisse reflects deeply on her journey: from where she comes from, to her unwavering mission, to challenging systems of oppression, to reimagining possibilities for the future.

This dialogue is an invitation to think intentionally about the lives we live, the worlds we create, and the joy we claim.
